About WT5X
Greetings,
My name is Ron, WT5X, a 3rd generation Ham Radio Operator. I hold an Amateur Extra Class license. I was first licensed as a Novice in 1988. My Mom (SK) and Dad, sister, wife, both of my daughters, and one of dad's uncles (SK) are licensed.
I grew up watching my did invite missionary kids to come to the house on Sunday afternoon and talk to their folks overseas for 30 minutes (Pre cell phone days). Or going over to that uncle' house, on old military signalman, and watch him copy 25+ WPM Morse Code in his head and then just wear out an old "Straight Key" sending it back.
I spent the majority of my life in the commercial broadcast field and various aspects of the internet and I'm involved in helping churches and community groups set up and run local broadcasts and streams of their services and meetings.
I love being "Radio Active," I get on the air as often as I can. I've been lucky enough to win several awards and I've made many friends.
I have been honored to serve in several elected positions, including West Texas Section Manager, President of the Key City ARC in Abilene, Texas, Leadership Roles in Skywarn, RACES, ARES and the LEPC. I am a certified instructor and a CVE with both ARRL and W5YI. I currently serve as PIC for the West Texas Section and the KCARC.
I love our hobby, but found the options for comfortable, affordable and sometimes "entertaining" clothing lacking. So I built this shop! I hope you find what you are looking for... If not drop me a line, I do custom work!
Thanks and come back to see me.
73 de Ron,
WT5X
